LEADERSHIP SUMMIT VOWS TO PROTECT PUBLIC SERVICES Over four hundred frontline leaders from public sector unions across the greater Toronto area (GTA) attended the Toronto & York Region Labour Council's Public Sector Leadership Summit on April 15, 2010, to craft a united defence against the attack on public services and public sector workers. Leaders voted unanimously to adopt a resolution calling for the Labour Council and affiiliates to build a Public Services Solidarity Network for the greater Toronto area.

MAY 7th STEWARDS ASSEMBLY A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!The turnout was overwhelming – over one thousand six hundred stewards, staff and leaders jammed the Sheraton's grand ballroom for this historic event. The evening kicked off with a great presentation by economist Jim Stanford on the economic crisis, followed by five rank and file workers either impacted directly by job loss, or recalling past struggles won against impossible odds. Other speakers included CLC President Ken Georgetti, Labour Council President John Cartwright, Judy Persad and Winnie Ng of the Good Jobs for All Coalition, Fa Lim of the PMP Action Centre and surprise guest Mayor David Miller.
